OK so you have your login - now what do you do??
1) Login and follow the Startup Wizard or
2) Login and "Add a responder" call it anything you like, I usually use the name of the website/blog or product it is going to be used for - you can make as many of these responders as you want.
3) Go to "Edit membership info" and edit the info you only need to do this once.
4) Go to "Responder > Settings" and change the setting to the way you want them, you can tell the system to put this information "In all Responders" or have different info for each responder you create.
5) Go to "Messages > Followup" and paste in your first email message you can either use text or HTML. Set the delay, usually the first mail is set to go out immediately someone subscribes, in our system you can also set it to only send on certain days, by default all days are checked but if you don't want to send on a Sunday then uncheck it and the system will never send that message on a Sunday even if thats the day the person subscribed.
6) Now set up your second followup message but set a delay so if the first one went out immediately then set the next one to go after a delay of 1 day. The delay is always calculated from the signup date. Do the same with any other emails you want to use for this followup sequence, making the delay progressively longer. e.g.
mail 1 - immediate
mail 2 - 1 day delay
mail 3 - 2 days delay
mail 4 - 3 days delay
mail 5 - 6 days delay
mail 6 - 9 days delay
and so on, it's up to you what delays you choose.
7)Go to "Tools > Web Form" and generate a signup form, copy the JavaScript and paste it in the place you want the form to be on your website or in a text Widget on your blog.
8) Copy and paste the tracking code into the source code/html of your webpage at the bottom of the code just above the </body> tag. If you are using a text widget in a blog just add it at the bottom underneath the javaScript of the signup form.
9) You have now set up your autoresponder sequence and all you need to do it drive traffic to your site and let them sign up.
I hope this helps - it is of course very basic but we can cover that in another post.
