Are there any plans to improve this feature please?
I'm sure you have seen AWeber's new version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APZUm6yX47c) which looks rather nifty but even if we can't have something similar, I personally find the current one rather lacking. So much so that I cannot use it and defer to a separate program for building my web forms.

I agree this feature needs work. Quicktell which program do you use to build your web forms?

I use CoffeeCup's Flash Webform Builder. It's stupidly easy to use and makes really good looking forms. You can see an example of one of mine at http://www.lesbottesde7lieues.com/en/rental.html

There is however a downside to using a 3rd party web form builder and that's that it cannot interface with the quicktellpro system. This means that the web form submission comes directly to me and I then have to manually add the subscriber to the relevant responder. As I average roughly 3 customers per day this is no big deal but it would not be feasible for a site getting 100's of submissions daily.

Nonetheless, in a perfect world I would really like the quicktellpro web form builder to be improved so that it would be usable. Then I could fully automate our processes rather than having them semi-automated.

Thanks I'll downloading now. The look of the form makes a big difference, I changed my form form an nice clean aweber optin to a basic optin for 3 days and my sign up changed heaps. I normal get 5-9 people a day I ended up with 1 a day.
I'll try this out maybe I can create the form with CoffeeCup and then get one of my fivrr.com contacts to merge it with the info from the form created with quicktellpro fields. I'll let you know how it goes.

Great! Naturally I'm very interested if you can get quicktellpro code to work with a coffeecup generated web form. :)

HI Guy's,

Hans is working on a new webform similar to the Aweber one, it should be ready very soon.

@quicktell I down loaded the form builder software, it great to design with. I've contacted my web coder I'll should know soon if my idea is workable or not. I'll let you know either way.

@ Blackash
I have 2 issues with CoffeeCup's web form builder:

1. The supplied templates are the exact opposite of their "Awesome Themes" claim. Even those they offer for sale don't make the grade IMHO.

2. Despite the grid option, absolute positioning of text and images is often a hit and miss affair. I found the only way around it was to create a rectangle shape in a different color to the form and use it to align text with, then delete the shape.

On the whole it's a nice product and the fact that the mail address is embedded in an SWF seems to stop spammers from harvesting it. Being able to drag text and images to wherever you want them is so much easier than working with regular HTML and JS. And what I love is the scope for personalizing the form because even though CoffeeCup's templates are rubbish, that doesn't stop you building your own.

I got my copy a couple of years ago so it's just a bare essentials version. Reading ther site now, I see the current version has come a long way since then. It even sports captcha which is something I would love to see in QTP's new form generator (hint, hint). ;)

Hi quicktell, my web coder said yes they can do this. I expect it cost around $5 or $10 dollars. I let you know once it done, how much and turn around time.

Ok Hans has given both of you access to the Beta version of the new webform generator, please give us as much feedback as possible as we really need to know whats missing/difficult before we let it loose on the other clients.

You can access it by going to your Home page and clicking on the "Experimental" button under the Client Home section.

Once you get in you will see a few things we are working on at the moment, the "Simple for generator" is the one you want, you can also test the "Slideup generator" if you wish.

Let me know what you think!

Sorry I have been so long in replying. I didn't see this message until today. :(

So, I have given the Simple Generator a brief test and will offer the following comments:

1. It's not so obvious how to use it which made it somewhat tricky to get the hang of. I think the way it worked in the old QTP system was easier and more comprehensive, especially as that allowed for the creation of quizzes and polls. I believe this one does but I don't understand how it works and the nomenclature of 'Responders' seems strange. In fact I don't understand how it works at all because I think when he said 'Responders' he meant 'Responses' but then why does it start with 'Answers'? Surely it needs to be 'Question' and 'Answers'...? Sorry, I'm lost on this one.

2. Talking of the image templates, they may suit some people but they definitely don't suit my purposes so it would be good if we could upload our own images. Furthermore, despite the template chosen, the image appears as a thin slice only slightly larger than one of the form fields and there is no option to change that. Also, the template view shows what should be a design that covers the entire form but the body is left empty so basically the template feature doesn't work yet.

3. Adding a title to the form header, I found I could not centre it. There are no justification options. Ditto the submit button.

4. There's no option to change the colour of the submit button nor the font or text size used either. Personally, I think those are rather essential.

5. Although unclear for the uninitiated the dropdown option is good however, if I add the Country field and then select Dropdown, surely the dropdown should be instantly populated with a list of all countries? As it stands it is empty.

6. The idea of being able to add an image is great except that you can only do it below or above a field. I have always needed to add one either to the left or right of the fields. Indeed in some cases I have added one just under one word. Check out the forms on these 2 pages:
http://www.lesbottesde7lieues.com/en/order.html
http://www.lesbottesde7lieues.com/en/rental.html
Both were made with CoffeeCup's Web Form Builder so we are talking software generated as opposed to manually built with an HTML editor. I certainly could not achieve the same with the current QTP WFG but I do appreciate that it's in experimental stage so maybe Hans will be able to lift the barrier in the future.

7. Finally, under the Form Properties tab I can specify the width but not the height. That's a serious oversight in my opinion.

Moving on to the Slide-up Generator, why only slide up? The old system allowed slide in from any edge and offered numerous special FX. The FX aren't the be-all and end-all of a form however, as most sites use dynamic HTML and javascript these days it seems a shame not to make the best of that.

Why only 1 input field, or is that because it's in experimental phase (development)?

The themes idea could be good if there were any usable themes, or if you could upload/use your own image.

Finally, the dropdown with options for displaying the form to the same visitor again is missing 'NEVER'. In my current business I would always want him to see the form again however, in past marketing ventures I needed him to make an instant decision and incorporated a javascript countdown to motivate him. If he didn't take the required action within the alotted time frame the form would close and he would never be offered the opportunity again.

Incidentally, I added the countdown by inserting a snippet of javascript code. Would it not be possible to add such an option to the form generator?
